Dr. Charles Rush was born in Dothan, Alabama and is married with 3 children. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and did his internship and residency at the University of South Florida.

Dr. Rush is a board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon and has been in private practice since 1985. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Florida Orthopaedic Society, and the Sarasota County Medical Society. He served as Chief of Surgery at Doctor’s Hospital in 1990 and Chief of Staff at Doctors Hospital in 1991 and 1992.

Dr. Rush specializes in joint replacement surgery, sports medicine, and arthroscopic surgery. He is one of the physicians at Kennedy-White Orthopaedic Center who performs minimally invasive knee surgery. In addition, he performs endoscopic carpal tunnel releases that minimize the size of incision and can speed recovery.

Dr. Rush  is very active in the community as a high school team physician, and as a coach for youth basketball.

Dr. Rush was the HCA Doctors Hospital 2005 Physician of the Year and is a member of the Board of Trustees HCA Doctors Hospital.
